A street waste basket was cleaned at 8:00am on 8th February 2001 ( the 414th Anniversary of the beheading of Mary Queen of Scots) 24 hours later the cleaner collected all the items left. Each item was weighed and photographed. All of the words occurring on every item of rubbish were then transcribed. From this table of information the frequency and weight of words disposed of per day in London has been calculated. |
